Columbia, [Tolland county, Connecticut]
March 5th 1865
Dear Daughter,
Having not heard from you for some time, I thought I would write you a few lines to let you know that I am well and hope these few and feeble lines will find you enjoying the same blessings.
I should like to hear from you and the folks to know if you are all well. I have not heard a word from you for over a year and if you will write me a few lines and let me know how you are, it will be thankfully received.
I do not know as I shall stay in Columbia another year. I do not know what I shall do or where I shall go. Write soon and let me hear from you.
From your father, — Rufus Williams
