Base Hospital near Bermuda Lines, Virginia

Dear Wife,
I will now pen a few lines to let you know that I am in the land of the living. I have been very sick of a fever but thank God that I am much better and I hope soon to go to the company. I got your kind letter last night and it pains me to hear that you are sick and you must try to getewll as soon as possible. I wish that I could be sick in your place for I had much rather be sick than to have you suffer any.
Give my love to Wenton and Mary and to all of the folks. I will now close. Good night, my pet. I will write again soon as possible. Yours, — Chet
Direct your letters the same as usual for I will soon be back to the company. — Chet
